NDSU’s Men’s Golf Travels to Kansas for Wildcat Invitational

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's golf team travels down to Kansas to compete in the Wildcat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course.
Tournament Schedule
The Wildcat Invitational will be a 54-hole tournament, with the first two rounds being played on Monday and the final round being played on Tuesday.

The Tournament Field
15 teams will be competing at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas. Along with NDSU and the hosts Kansas State, the field will include North Dakota, Drake, Incarnate Word, UMKC, Creighton, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Bradley, Lindenwood, South Dakota, St. Thomas, Omaha and Southern Illinois.
The Course
Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas, is a challenging links style course that utilizes well-placed bunkers and strategic hazards to punish the uncontrolled golfer. The course was designed by architect Jeff Brauer and eight-time PGA Tour winner Jim Colbert, who is a Kansas State alumnus. Stretching 7,513 yards from the back tees, if golfers can navigate the fairways, they will be rewarded with large greens which average over 7,000 square feet. The fifth hole, a 213-yard par three, pays homage to Colbert's alma mater with a bunker complex in the shape of a wildcat paw print. The signature seventh hole is a 600-yard par five that features astounding views of the Flint Hills from the tee. Golfers' initial drive on the hole drops over 90 feet from the tee onto the fairway below. The second shot is hampered by bunkers that pinch the fairway in tight, and the green provides a false front that will direct short approach shots into one of the three greenside bunkers.
Last Time Out
Carter White claimed his first career victory at the America Needs Farmers Fall Classic in Riverside, Iowa. White fired rounds of 73, 65 and 69 on his way to being named the Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week, his second time earning that honor. White's second round included eight birdies and is tied for the fourth-lowest round in program history. The Bison finished the tournament in fourth place out of 14 teams. Peyton Albers finished in a tie for 10th in his collegiate debut, firing rounds of 70, 71 and 72. Sean Moore took 20th at +1 overall, while Andrew Ballou fired a 66 in his first round of the tournament and finished in 25th at +2. Elias Ekern and Henry Johnson tied for 42nd after opening their collegiate careers with a final tally of +8.
Bison In Kansas
The Bison return to the Wildcat Invitational for the first time since 2023, when they placed fifth out of 15 teams. Current assistant coach Nate Adams fired an opening round 69 to propel himself to a tie for 16th. Jack Johnson joined him in that tie, while Gavin Cronkhite carded a 68 in round two for the lowest round of the tournament by a Bison. NDSU also competed in the tournament in 2022 and 2021, finishing second and fifth those years, respectively.
Bison Competing
The Bison will take five golfers down to Manhattan for the tournament. The Bison lineup includes third year golfer Sean Moore, second year golfers Andrew Ballou and Carter White, and first year golfers Peyton Albers and Henry Johnson.
Golfer of the Week
Carter White earned his second Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week honors with his first collegiate victory at the America Needs Farmers Fall Classic, shooting a -9 overall. White's second round score of 65 (-7) is tied for the fourth-lowest round in program history. It is his second Golfer of the Week honor, the first coming in September 2025 when he earned Co-Honors with Jake Skarperud after they lead the Bison to a team victory and tied for third at the Bluejay Invitational.
