Trent Keefer returns to North Dakota State as a volunteer assistant in 2022 after also serving in a similar role in 2018.
Keefer helped lead NDSU to its first Summit League regular season title in program history after assembling a 30-17 (17-5 Summit) overall record in 2022. He assisted with the NDSU pitching staff that totaled 17 saves, which led the Summit League and ranked tied for second in NDSU history.
Keefer was a standout left-handed pitcher for the Bison from 2014-2015. A native of Mesa, Ariz., Keefer tallied eight wins in 28 appearances and 26 starts during his two seasons with NDSU. He tossed two complete games and struck out 111 batters with just 41 walks in 132 2/3 innings on the mound.
Keefer ranks seventh in NDSU program history in fewest walks allowed/nine inning game at 2.78.
Prior to his time with the Bison, Keefer played two seasons at GateWay Community College in Phoenix, Ariz., where he was a two-year starter and letterwinner.
He graduated from Skyline High School in Mesa in 2011 and was a two-year starter on the mound. Keefer pitched 14 complete games and compiled 136 strikeouts while at Skyline.
