2019 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program...Did not participate in any contests...Named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2019 graduate of Sioux Falls Washington High School...Four-year letterman and three-year starter under coach Chad Stadem...Team captain his senior year...Passed for 2,100 yards and 22 touchdowns...Also rushed for 300 yards and five TDs...First-team all-state honoree...Two-time all-conference...Set school records for passing yards (6,050), passing touchdowns (68) and total offense yards (6,950)...Part of three straight state championships and a 33-game winning streak...Led the Warriors to a 33-2 records as starting QB...Also competed in the high jump for Washington...Placed fifth at the state meet as a sophomore and junior...Academic all-state honoree...National Honor Society member.

PERSONAL: Majoring in mechanical engineering...Son of Nick and Jill Johannsen...Father was a high jumper and pole vaulter at Kansas...Mother competed in track and cross country at South Dakota State...Has a sister, Jacee.
