2017-18 SEASON (Freshman): NCAA qualifier at 125 pounds … Went 0-2 at the NCAA tournament … Place 7
th at the Big 12 Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament with a 9-4 decision over Fresno State’s Sean Williams … Compiled 24-15 record overall including 10-7 in duals (3-5 Big 12) with seven major decisions, six pins and a tech fall … NWCA All-Academic Team selection … Named to Academic All-Big 12 Conference first team … Placed third at the Bison Open (11-11-17) with a 3-1 record including a pin and major decision … Went 4-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (12-1/2-17), picking up 11-5 decision over nationally-ranked Dalton Macri of North Carolina … Had 5-1 record at Reno Tournament of Champions with three major decisions and a pair of pins … Placed third at the UWW Junior Nationals in the 57 KG/125.6 pounds freestyle bracket with a 6-1 record.
2016-17 SEASON (Redshirt): Went 14-5 with five pins, a pair of major decisions and one tech fall wrestling unattached at 125 pounds ... Compiled 3-2 record at the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30 ... Placed in top six at four other tournaments ... Won the Finn Grinaker Open/Gold Division (11-19-16) with 3-0 record including a pair of pins ... Placed second with 3-1 at the Bison Open (11-12-16) ... His only loss at Bison Open was to training partner and three-time NCAA qualifier Josh Rodriguez ... Won 2 of 3 matches to finish runner-up at the Husky Open (12-10-16) ... Placed sixth at UNI Open (12-3-16) with 3-1 record ... Advanced to the 55 kg/121 pound championship match at the 2017 UWW Junior Freestyle National Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time Wisconsin state champion for Twin Rivers High School and head coach Paul Gerkhe with titles at 113, 120 and 126 pounds ... Went 104-0 over last two seasons, lost only two times over the last three years ... Had school record 206 wins during prep career including school record 53-0 as a senior ... Four-time conference champion, three-time regional champ ... Two-time Cheesehead Invitational champion ...Top six finishes in Greco-Roman at four USA Wrestling National tournaments including third place in 2016 ... Three-time folkstyle All-American ...
