Border States congratulates Garret Wegner, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.Â
Wegner, a food science major, averaged 52.2 yards on five punts and showed his athleticism by running 23 yards to secure a first down during a fake punt. The Lodi, Wis. native had a career-long 67 yard punt, punts of 54 and 59 yards, and two inside the 20-yard line to help secure the 25-0 victory over Missouri State. Wegner was named FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week and Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
