Border States congratulates Jennie Baragar-Petrash, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Baragar-Petrash, a senior from Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a graduate student. She clocked a career-best 9:10.51 for the 3,000m, trimming nearly seven seconds off her previous best time and placing 10th at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her 10th-place finish was a significant improvement over her No. 15 ranking entering the meet, and it earned her second-team All-America honors.
Exhibiting a stellar performance in the classroom and in competition is no easy task. It takes tireless energy, passion and personal commitment to achieve excellence. And it's this pursuit of excellence that helps the entire team succeed.
