Border States congratulates Lainey Lyle, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Lyle, a criminal justice major, pitched her first collegiate no-hitter against the University of South Dakota. The Middleton, Idaho native recorded seven strikeouts in an 89-pitch effort to defeat the Coyotes 3-0, sweeping the Saturday doubleheader. Lyle's no-hitter led her to secure the Summit League Pitcher of the Week award. Her no-hitter is the 14th in Division I play since 2005.Â
