Border States congratulates Shelby Gunnells, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Gunnells, a junior from Solon, Iowa, registered a personal-best by more than a foot in the shot put, throwing 52-01.75 (15.89m) for the win at the Thundering Herd Classic. Gunnells' mark would have ranked third in NDSU indoor history had she not been competing unattached. She has 4.000 GPA in university studies.
