Border States congratulates Alyssa Olin, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Olin, a senior from Mott, N.D., broke her own school record on three consecutive attempts to open the season, posting the nation's top mark in the javelin this year at Arizona State's Baldy Castillo Invitational. On her third throw of the day, Olin uncorked a remarkable toss of 191-6 (58.36m) – an improvement of 17 feet over her previous school record. Her mark would have won every NCAA title in the javelin from 2011 through 2014. She has 3.566 GPA in zoology.
