MANHATTAN, Kan.--Kansas State scored runs in seven of its eight at-bats and held off North Dakota State for an 11-5 college baseball win Tuesday, March 15, at Tointon Stadium.

K-State won for the seventh straight game to improve to 12-5. The Bison dropped to 0-12-1.

North Dakota State went ahead 2-0 in the top of the second when a two-run double by designated hitter Reid Arnold scored Ryan Langlais and Jared Sullivan, who both walked.

K-State scored a pair of unearned runs in the second and added one in the third to go up 3-2, but Arnold tied the game in the fourth with an RBI single into right field that scored Sullivan.

Eric Durante's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth gave the Wildcats a 4-3 lead and Eric Eymann's 2-run double down the left field line scored the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth.

Bison starting pitcher Jay Mitchell threw five strong innings but took the loss. Mitchell allowed six runs on six hits while walking four and striking out one.

K-State starter Brett Ames worked four innings for the win. Ames fanned five and walked two.

Wildcat right fielder Steve Murphy was 4-for-4 with a double and three runs.

North Dakota State is scheduled to continue its 11-game, 13-day road swing with a four-game series at Missouri on March 18-20. The series opener is scheduled for Friday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m.
