FARGO, N.D.--Kyle Harrison tripled and Shannon Ekermans lifted a sacrifice fly to give North Dakota State a 5-4 win in 10 innings over South Dakota State in Summit League baseball Thursday, May 15, at Newman Outdoor Field.

After Harrison hit the first pitch from reliever Kirby Morsching to the wall in right-center field, the Jackrabbits (21-25, 8-9) intentionally walked Ryan Langlais and Kole Zimmerman to load the bases.

Morsching struck out Sebastian Miles before Ekermans hit the first pitch to center field. Billy Stitz's throw was off line and not in time.

Miles was 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored for North Dakota State (13-29, 5-15). Harrison and David Williams each had two hits for the Bison, who outhit SDSU 10-7.

NDSU starter Ben Mathiason allowed three runs on four hits with six strikeouts and four walks in eight innings, but he did not factor in the decision.

SDSU greeted Bison closer Shane Bushland with three straight singles to tie the game at 4 with nobody out in the ninth. Bushland became the winning pitcher in the 10th, upping his record to 6-3. Morsching dropped to 2-5.

Craig Parry was the only Jackrabbit player with multiple hits. He was 2-for-3. Tyson Fisher hit his 10th home run of the year in the fourth inning, sending an 0-2 pitch over the right-center field wall with one out.

The four-game series continues with a 3 p.m. doubleheader Friday, May 16. It will be a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning game.
