
Brooks Joins Guatemala Senior National Team for Gold Cup Qualifying

ANTIGUA, Guatemala ? North Dakota State freshman Shannon Brooks will compete with the Guatemalan senior national team in CONCACAF (The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) Gold Cup and Central American & Caribbean Games qualification beginning Thursday, April 22. This will be Brooks' first appearance with the senior national team.
Brooks and Guatemala will compete in group A against El Salvador and Belize. Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica make up group B.
The winners of each group will compete in a two-leg playoff for Central America's lone berth in the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup. The playoff will take place in either October or November at a site to be announced.
In addition, the top two squads in each group will qualify for the Central American & Caribbean Games to be held July 17-Aug. 1 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Brooks also competed with the Guatemala Under-20 national team at the CONCACAF U-20 Women's Championships in January.

Group B (at Managua, Nicaragua)
Monday, April 26 - Nicaragua vs. Honduras
