The North Dakota State women's track & field team will compete in four meets in southern California this week, including the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
Heptathletes Ashley Heinze, Rose Jackson, Deidre Hahn and Ann Govig will open the four-day stretch by competing in the California Invitational Multi-Events meet in Azusa, Calif., on Wednesday, Apr. 16, and Thursday, Apr. 17.
Seventeen Bison entries have been accepted at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, which will run from Apr. 17-19 in Walnut, Calif. NDSU women expected to compete include: Deborah John (100m hurdles, 100m dash), Erin Teschuk (1500m), Ashley Tingelstad (400m), Paige Stratioti (400m), Faith Kruchowski (800m), Amy Andrushko (800m), Jenny Guibert (800m), Antoinette Goodman (200m), Morgan Milbrath (200m), Sierra Rosenau (javelin), Amber Riopelle (javelin), Anna Benke (pole vault), Katelyn Weimerskirch (discus), and Caitlin Mack (pole vault).
Both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams have qualified for elite special invitational sections at Mt. SAC.
Bison athletes will take part in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa on Friday, Apr. 18, and the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif., on Saturday, Apr. 19, to fill out the competition schedule. Both of those meets will hold hammer throw competitions on the day prior to all other events.
The NDSU women currently rank among the top 35 in the nation in six different events – the 800m, 4x100m, 4x400m, 400m, 3,000m steeplechase and javelin. The Bison have won six consecutive Summit League outdoor team titles and 13 straight team championships overall.
