Largest Group Ever
The North Dakota State University women's track & field team will send 11 athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with 12 total entries, marking the largest contingent of national qualifiers in the school's Division I history. The meet will be hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., on May 29-31.

ArkansasRazorbacks.com will provide live video of all three days of the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, beginning with the start of running events each day (4:30 p.m. on Thursday, 5 p.m. on Friday, and 6 p.m. on Saturday). Big Number
With 12 entries at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, the Bison women have more entries than 21 schools from the SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12, Big 12 and ACC.
How to Advance
Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West Preliminary Rounds will qualify for the NCAA Championships (June 11-14) in Eugene, Ore.
In the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, the top three finishers from six first-round heats, plus the next six fastest times, advance to the quarterfinals (24). The top three finishers from each of the three quarterfinal heats, plus the next three fastest times, advance to the NCAA Championships (12).
In the 3,000m steeplechase, the top three from three quarterfinal heats, plus the next three fastest times (12), advance to the NCAA Championships.
In the 4x400m relay, the top three teams from three quarterfinal heats, plus the next three fastest times (12), advance to the NCAA Championships.
In the javelin, long jump and discus, the 16 best marks after tiebreakers will qualify from the first round of three preliminary attempts to the final round of three additional attempts. The top 12 marks overall advance to the NCAA Championships.
