BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – North Dakota State senior Erin Teschuk earned a spot in the national finals of the mile at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening.

Teschuk crossed the finish line in 4:37.47 to move on as the fifth-fastest qualifier to Saturday's 10-woman final. Elinor Purrier of New Hampshire was the fastest qualifier at 4:36.15.

The NCAA finals of the mile will run at 4:10 p.m. (CT) tomorrow night inside the Birmingham CrossPlex. Teschuk will also run the 3,000m final at 6:25 p.m., which she enters with a No. 5 national ranking. ESPN3 is streaming the meet live starting at 4 p.m.

Teschuk now owns the nine fastest mile times in North Dakota State history. Last season, she finished fifth in the mile and seventh in the 3,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships as a junior.
