NORWALK, Calif. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team had numerous impressive performances at a trio of meets in southern California on Friday.
Senior Brendan Skime ran a Summit League-leading 9:02.83 in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Relays. It was the second-fastest time of Skime's career, coming within 0.25 seconds of his personal-best.
A pair of former Bismarck Century HS standouts posted strong performances in the 400m dash for NDSU. Running into a tough breeze down the backstretch, sophomore Landon Jochim clocked 48.21 at the Mt. SAC Relays. Freshman Jacob Richter recorded a big personal-best of 48.51 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Junior thrower Brian Blasey set a new personal-best in the discus with a mark of 166-1 (50.63m) that moved him up to No. 9 on the Bison all-time list in the event.
Sophomore Matt Bedard clocked 52.87 in the 400m hurdles – his fastest time ever during the collegiate season. Bedard ran 52.62 during the summer in his native Canada last year. He ranks second in The Summit League this season behind teammate Jerome Begin.
Jonah Warwick ran 1:51.97 in the 800m at the Mt. SAC Relays – his third time this year under 1:52. Freshman Byrne Curl posted another personal-best in the 800m, running 1:54.61 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
