NDSU Women Claim 11 Events to Dominate Lyle Hokanson Classic

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team won 11 events on Saturday in an impressive showing at the Lyle Hokanson Classic held at Schlanser Track on the NDSU campus. The Bison women captured all four titles in the throwing events at the meet.
Junior Courtney Pasiowitz extended her outdoor personal-best in the shot put with her winning throw of 52-01.25 (15.88m). She is ranked second in NDSU history in the event.
Bison junior Katelyn Weimerskirch claimed the discus title at 158-7 (48.35m), and NDSU freshman Keyawna Larson won the javelin with a throw of 137-1 (41.78m).
Junior sprinter Morgan Milbrath took first in the 200m dash in 24.23 – the second-fastest time of her career. Alexis Woods clocked a PR of 24.70 for third place.
Bison sophomore Gabby Grommesh won the 100m dash in a season-best time of 12.37 seconds and took fifth in the 200m in 25.48.
NDSU's Amy Andrushko won the 400m in 57.66, and Jenny Guibert claimed the 800m crown in 2:12.69. The Bison swept the top four places in the 800m with Taylor Janssen running a PR of 2:14.76 for second, Sierra Link third, and Kayla Huhnerkoch fourth.
Rose Jackson clocked 1:02.39 in her 400m hurdles debut for the win, just missing a spot in the NDSU all-time top 10.
The Bison women took first in the 4x100m relay in 46.61 seconds with the team of Deidre Hahn, Milbrath, Grommesh and Amanda Levin.
Senior Ann Govig won the high jump, clearing 5-05.00 (1.65m), and Brittany Stangl took the pole vault title at 12-10.75 (3.93m).
NDSU sophomore Jaelin Beachy scored a personal-best 4,318 points in the heptathlon for a runner-up finish.
Sophomore thrower Kelsey Laufenberg had a good day, throwing a personal-best of 49-02.50 (15.00m) in the shot put to move up to sixth all-time at NDSU. She also registered a personal-best of 143-8 (43.80m) for fifth place in the discus.
Lexy Boschee had an outdoor personal-best of 18-00.50 (5.50m) in the long jump for third place, and she also ran a strong time of 14.84 seconds for fourth in the 100m hurdles.
The Bison will travel to Des Moines, Iowa, next weekend to compete at the Drake Relays.
