NDSU Track & Field Hosts Bison Open on Friday and Saturday

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's and women's track & field teams will host the Bison Open at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility on Friday, Feb. 3, and Saturday, Feb. 4.
Action begins with the pentathlon 60m hurdles and the men's weight throw at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Friday's running events start at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the meet resumes with the heptathlon 60m hurdles at 10:30 a.m. and the unseeded running events at 10:50 a.m. Saturday's main field events start at 1 p.m., with seeded running events getting underway at 2 p.m.

The Bison have targeted several school records that they will attempt to break this weekend. Senior Morgan Milbrath and junior Landon Jochim will go after the NDSU records in the 300m dash at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Junior Jake Leingang will try for the NDSU school record in the mile and plans to make a run at the four-minute barrier at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
NDSU's men have six performances that rank among the top 30 in the NCAA this season, led by senior Alex Renner at No. 7 in the nation in the shot put.
The Bison women own six marks that stand among the top 40 in the country this year, led by senior Katelyn Weimerskirch at No. 16 in the weight throw.
The Bison women have won nine consecutive Summit League indoor team titles, and will go for their 10th in a row in Brookings, S.D., on Feb. 24-25. The NDSU men have five Summit League indoor team championships and will attempt to defend their title at the end of the month.
