AMES, Iowa – The North Dakota State women's track & field team opened competition at the Iowa State Classic and SDSU Indoor Classic on Friday, Feb. 10.
Senior Katelyn Weimerskirch was the top placewinner for the Bison at Iowa State, placing fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 64-01.00 (19.53m). Redshirt freshman Maddy Nilles registered a weight throw personal-best for the third straight week, throwing 63-06.75 (19.37m). Nilles finished seventh in the meet and ranks fourth in school history and 45th in the NCAA this season.
Bison senior Rose Jackson ran an indoor career-best 24.40 in the 200m dash for fifth place at Iowa State. That time ranks her fourth-fastest in NDSU history. Senior Morgan Milbrath clocked 24.67 for ninth place in the 200m, and junior Alexis Woods matched her indoor personal-best at 25.02 to take 11th.
Sophomore Annika Rotvold cut three seconds off her previous best in the mile, running 4:51.06 to rank No. 7 all-time at NDSU.
Junior Courtney Pasiowitz took ninth in the weight throw at Iowa State with a toss of 62-01.25 (18.93m).
Maddie Van Beek, competing professionally for Brooks, clocked a 5,000m personal-best of 15:51.11 to finish third in the invitational section at the Iowa State Classic.
Junior Amanda Levin was the runner-up in the long jump at the SDSU Indoor Classic, leaping 18-09.25 (5.72m). Freshman Macy Denzer ran a season-best 25.75 in the 200m dash.
The Iowa State Classic and SDSU Indoor Classic will resume on Saturday.
