Milbrath, Woods Shine for Bison Women’s Track & Field at Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – The North Dakota State women's track & field team closed out the Iowa State Classic on Saturday with outstanding performances from senior Morgan Milbrath, junior Alexis Woods, and the Bison 4x400m relay team.
Milbrath (Minot, N.D.) ran the second-fastest 400m in NDSU indoor history, winning the event with a time of 53.99. She now ranks among the top 50 in the NCAA this season in the 400m.
Woods (Parshall, N.D.) was close behind, taking third place in 54.41 – a new personal-best that ranks her No. 3 all-time at NDSU.
Milbrath, Woods, Amy Andrushko and Rose Jackson capped the meet with a runner-up finish in the 4x400m relay in 3:41.68, making them the fifth-fastest 4x400 team in NDSU history.
Bison junior Courtney Pasiowitz was the top collegian in the shot put at Iowa State, throwing 51-5 (15.67m). NDSU sophomore Shelby Gunnells took fifth at 48-08.25 (14.84m), and Bailey Retzlaff was seventh at 47-08.50 (14.54m).
Senior Amy Andrushko posted her second-fastest 800m time of the season, finishing in 2:09.30 for 18th place. Jenny Guibert clocked a season-best 2:14.17.
At the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., junior Lauren Gietzen won the pole vault with a personal-best height of 13-03.50 (4.05m), tying her for third all-time at NDSU indoors. Bison sophomore Klara Lyon placed third, clearing 12-05.50 (3.80m).
Amanda Levin clocked a 400m personal-best of 56.76 to place sixth overall at SDSU. Freshman Katie Bye posted a season-best time of 2:17.45 in the 800m. Bison freshman Macy Denzer ran 8.94 seconds in the 60m hurdles prelims and placed seventh in the final.
Piper Jensen took sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 37-00.25 (11.28m).
The Bison will compete at the Summit League Indoor Championships in Brookings, S.D., on Feb. 24-25.
