Bison Women’s Track & Field Wins Three Events with Limited Squad at UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team captured three event titles with a limited number of entries at the UND Indoor Tune-Up on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Freshman Katie Bye (Fargo Davies HS) won the 800m, clocking a season-best 2:17.08. Senior Katelyn Weimerskirch won the weight throw with a mark of 63-03.25 (19.28m), and sophomore Klara Lyon took first in the pole vault, clearing 12-01.50 (3.70m).
Junior Piper Jensen (17-03.50 / 5.27m) and sophomore Bailey DeMar (17-00.50 / 5.19m) placed second and third, respectively, in the long jump.
Bison sophomore Dakota Wood clocked a season-best time of 8.88 seconds in the 60m hurdles for third place.
Unattached Bison freshman Lexy Wittmayer tied for third in the high jump, clearing 5-03.00 (1.60m).
Junior Deidre Hahn posted season-best times in the 60m dash (7.85) and 200m dash (25.41) to place in the top six in both events.
The Bison women will attempt to win their 10th consecutive Summit League indoor team title at the Summit League Indoor Championships in Brookings, S.D., on Feb. 24-25.
