The rest of the NDSU women will compete at the SDSU Indoor Classic held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, S.D., where events begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and resume at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.
The Bison women climbed to No. 5 in the Midwest Region in the USTFCCCA regional rankings this week, behind only Kansas State, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Kansas.
In the USTFCCCA event squad rankings, the North Dakota State women rank first in the country in the weight throw, second in the shot put, and fourth nationally in the pentathlon. The event squad rankings were created to rank teams within each single event – averaging the best performances from the top four athletes at each school in each event.
In the weight throw, NDSU has four women who have surpassed 61 feet this season – something no other school in the NCAA can boast. The Bison have four women over 48 feet in the shot put, with no other school having four beyond even 46 feet.
Rose Jackson is NDSU's highest ranked individual on the NCAA performance lists this season, ranking 18th in the pentathlon.
