Jackson Leads Bison Women on First Day of UC Riverside Heptathlon

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Senior Rose Jackson led the North Dakota State women's heptathletes on the opening day of competition at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic on Thursday, recording a pair of performances that rank among the NDSU all-time top 10.
Jackson stands in second place overall with 3,320 points through four events – an improvement of 151 points over her previous first-day high. Jackson began the day with a time of 14.34 seconds in the 100m hurdles to rank 10th all-time at NDSU, and she ended the day with a career-best clocking of 23.87 in the 200m dash to rank third in NDSU history.
Jackson's personal-best heptathlon score is 5,269 points – recorded at the California Invitational Heptathlon in April 2016. She had 3,169 points following the first day of that heptathlon.
NDSU junior Amanda Levin is in fifth place with 2,887 points, senior Lexy Boschee is sixth with 2,849, and freshman Macy Denzer is eighth with 2,787.
Levin capped the day with back-to-back personal-bests in the shot put (36-07.50 / 11.16m) and the 200m dash (25.21).
The UC Riverside Spring Track Classic will continue on Friday and Saturday.
