The North Dakota State University women's and men's track & field teams are headed to California this weekend to compete in a pair of meets in the Bay Area on Friday, Mar. 31, and Saturday, Apr. 1.
The Bison will take part in the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif., and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival in San Francisco on both days.
Two weeks into the outdoor season, NDSU athletes have several performances that rank among the best in the NCAA. Bison seniors Matti Mortimore (men's javelin) and Rose Jackson (women's heptathlon) both rank No. 1 in the nation. Sophomore Ryan Enerson is currently sixth in the country in the decathlon, and senior Alex Renner is seventh in the shot put.
North Dakota State will host The Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Fargo on May 11-13. The Bison women have won nine straight team championships, while the men have won eight of nine and seven consecutive crowns.
