WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - North Dakota State's Dax Wallat shot a career-low 70 in the final round to lead the Bison men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Glen Oaks Country Club.

Wallat, a senior from Federal Way, Wash., tied for 15th place overall with an 8-over-par 221. NDSU scored its second-best round of the season with a 288 and its three-round total of 886 was seven shots behind Bradley University in the 12-team tournament.

The top two Bison finishers were competing as individuals separate from the five-player team. Sophomore Van Holmgren fired a 69 in the final round to move into a tie for seventh place at 6-over 219, and freshman Jed Baranczyk tied for 10th with a 220.

NDSU's Will Holmgren shot a 71 in the final round and tied for 18th place with a 222. Nate Deziel shot 73 and Lucas Johnson 74 to put both in a tie for 21st place at 223. Bison teammate Andrew Israelson tied for 32nd with a 228.

Loyola-Chicago's Tyler Anderson won the individual title by one shot with a 1-over-par 214.

North Dakota State is scheduled to close out its fall schedule Oct. 21-23 at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in Powells Point, N.C.
