Otterdahl Breaks NDSU Discus Record in 4th Straight Meet

LONG BEACH, Calif. – North Dakota State junior thrower Payton Otterdahl broke his own school record in the discus for the fourth consecutive meet, throwing 195-0 (59.45m) at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate meet hosted by Long Beach State on Thursday. Otterdahl now stands at No. 7 on the NCAA performance list in the event.
Junior Kelle'Mon Hinton became the first Bison in 14 years to go over 49 feet in the triple jump, leaping 49-01.75 (14.98m). Hinton ranks No. 7 all-time at NDSU in the outdoor triple jump.
Bison senior Steffan Stroh won the hammer throw at Long Beach, posting a season-best toss of 215-0 (65.54m) – the third-best throw of his career. Stroh ranks in the NCAA's top 25 this season.
Sophomore Michael Keogan threw a personal-best 56-08.00 (17.27m) in the shot put, ranking seventh in NDSU outdoor history.
Redshirt freshman Connor Wendel (Carrington, N.D.) earned a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles, clocking 54.36. Sophomore Ben Klimpke ran the second-fastest 110m hurdles race of his career, clocking 14.92 to rank fourth in The Summit League this year.
Bison junior Jacob Richter ran 49.57 in the 400m dash for third place.
Freshman Curtis Stradley (Battle Ground, Wash.) placed fifth in the javelin, throwing a season-best 193-6 (58.98m).
At the Bryan Clay Multis in Azusa, Calif., NDSU junior Ryan Enerson improved his decathlon PR by nearly 150 points, scoring 6,946. He threw a javelin personal-best of 157-3 and tied his pole vault best at 14-9.
