DES MOINES, Iowa – Several distance runners kick-started the Drake Relays for the North Dakota State women's track & field team on Thursday, setting personal-best and season-best times.
Freshman Jen Dufner (West Fargo, N.D.) ran 17:09.49 in the 5000m, cutting 28 seconds off her previous best and jumping up to No. 7 in The Summit League this year.
Junior Katie Bostrom (Fargo, N.D.) clocked the second-fastest 800m of her career on Thursday, running 2:12.15 to come within five-hundredths of a second of her career best.
Junior Kayla Huhnerkoch (Redwood Falls, Minn.) placed sixth in the unseeded 1500m, running a season-best 4:37.07.
Bison alum Rose Jackson scored 5,537 points to run away with the Drake Relays heptathlon title, winning by a margin of 680 points. Jackson's score was the second-best of her career, finishing just three points short of her personal best.
