Stroh Wins Hammer, Bison Men Post Strong Relays Performances at Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa – Senior Steffan Stroh won the collegiate hammer throw title, and the North Dakota State men's track & field team posted several strong relay performances to cap the weekend at the Drake Relays.
Stroh recorded the second-best hammer mark of his career, reaching 217-9 (66.39m) on his first attempt of the meet. He is ranked 22nd in the NCAA this season.
In the 1600m medley relay, J.T. Butler, Alex Brosseau, Jacob Richter and Byrne Curl finished fourth in 3:25.13 – ranking fourth all-time at NDSU in the event. Richter split an unofficial 47.0 on his 400m leg, and Curl anchored the 800m in 1:53.9.
Tim Heikkila, Connor Wendel, Brant Gilbertson and Jake Leingang clocked the fourth-fastest distance medley time in NDSU history, taking seventh place in the meet in 9:56.64.
The Bison men took third in the shuttle hurdle relay, clocking 1:00.33 to rank seventh in school history with the team of Dominic Martinez, Ben Klimpke, Daniel Asa and Ryan Enerson. The NDSU men also placed third in the 4x200m relay with the squad of Tatenda Dzvokora, Alex Brosseau, Enerson and Matt Neururer.
Payton Otterdahl placed third in the discus with a mark of 188-1 (57.32m). Senior Aron Klos ran a season-best and Summit League-leading 53.87 in the 400m hurdles.
