FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The North Dakota State University men's golf team shot an opening round 14-over par 294 at Fort Collins Country Club during the Ram Masters Invitational on Monday, Sept. 17. The Bison shot a 298 in the second round and are in 17th place overall.

North Dakota State's Andrew Israelson shot a 1-over-par 71 in both rounds and is in 19th place. Israelson is nine shots back of individual leader Dan Starzynski of Wyoming, who is at 7-under 133.

Nate Deziel's 72 in the first round and Will Holmgren's 74 were the only other two Bison rounds under 75 on the day.

Deziel came back with a 76 in the second round and Holmgren had a 77. Dax Wallat scored rounds of 77 and 75, and Van Holmgren turned in a 78 in the opening round before coming back with a 76.

Tournament host Colorado State will take an 11-shot lead into the final round Tuesday, Sept. 18, after firing an impressive 14-under 266 as a team in the second round. Illinois State is second followed by Northern Colorado and South Dakota in a tie for third 21 shots back.
