FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's cross country team will host the Summit League Cross Country Championships at Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo on Saturday, Nov. 2. The men's eight-kilometer race will start at 1 p.m., with the women's 6k to follow at 2 p.m. (Updated times due to course conditions)
Admission is free for all spectators.
The Bison men have finished second in the team standings at the past two Summit League Championships. South Dakota State is this year's preseason favorite after defending its team title last season.
Juniors Alex Bartholomay and Tim Heikkila have been NDSU's top performers this season, with freshman Isaac Huber averaging as NDSU's No. 3 runner and sophomore Keiser Freetly at No. 4 for the Bison. Freshman Payton Smith (Carrington, N.D.) has also regularly factored into NDSU's top five.
The highest individual finish by a Bison at the Summit League meet belongs to Greg Liebl, who took second in 2007.
The Bison men return five of their top seven runners from last season's conference meet, with the top returner being senior Evan Kottsick who placed 15th.
