North Dakota State placed 11 student-athletes on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Wrestling team announced Feb. 21 by the conference office. Redshirt senior 184 Tyler McNutt was a three-time second-team pick before moving up to the first team this season. NDSU 197-pounder Cordell Eaton and 157 Nick Knutson both registered 4.0 grade point averages the previous two semesters and were two of 10 Bison wrestlers named to the first team. Eaton is a three-time selection, while Knutson made the jump to the first team this year. Joining McNutt, Eaton and Knutson on the first team are 125 Paul Bianchi, 141 Sawyer Degen, 285 Brandon Metz, 141 Taylor Nein, 174 Jesse Shearer, 285 Dan Stibral and 149 Gavin Sutton. Bianchi and Stibral are both two-time selections. NDSU 133 Cam Sykora was named to the second team.
