Anderson, Retzlaff Headline Bison Women’s Track & Field Friday

TORRANCE, Calif. – Friday was a lighter day of competition for the North Dakota State women's track & field team in California, but the Bison still recorded several significant performances.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, redshirt freshman Kelby Anderson cut more than 10 seconds off her previous best in the 5000m, running 16:14.04. She ranks third in NDSU history, behind only All-Americans Erin Teschuk and Maddie Van Beek.
At the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State, junior Bailey Retzlaff added more than five feet to her hammer throw personal-best with a toss of 205-3 (62.56m). She now ranks fifth all-time at NDSU in the hammer.
Retzlaff placed sixth overall, junior Amy Herrington (204-3 / 62.27m) was seventh, and senior Hannah Frost (203-2 / 61.92m) took eighth.
Already ranked among the top 20 in the nation, Bison sophomore Kari Wolfe posted another meet over 50 meters in the javelin. She threw 164-1 (50.01m) for seventh place at the Beach Invitational.
Bison redshirt freshman Akealy Moton threw 153-2 (46.68m) in the javelin, and senior Lindsay Wangerin posted the third-best javelin mark of her career, throwing 134-6 (41.01m).
Senior Katie Bostrom recorded the second-best 1500m time of her career late Friday night at Azusa Pacific, finishing in 4:33.85.
