Anderson, Kes Take Summit League Leads on Friday Night

SEATTLE, Wash. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team registered a number of significant performances on Friday with the Bison split across three meets.
At Washington's Husky Classic, junior Kelby Anderson registered a huge indoor 5,000m personal-best of 16:21.27. She ranks third in NDSU history behind only All-Americans Erin Teschuk and Maddie Van Beek.
The Bison women swept the top three places in the weight throw at the Husky Classic, with senior Maddy Nilles the champion with a mark of 67-04.25 (20.53m). Junior Amy Herrington was the runner-up at 62-00.25 (18.90m), and senior Shelby Gunnells took third at 61-09.75 (18.84m).
Bison senior Maggie Schwarzkopf posted a career-best mark of 60-03.00 (18.36m) for sixth place in the weight throw.
At the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Bison junior Jenna Kes posted the best long jump mark by a Summit League athlete this season. Kes was the top collegian in the event, leaping a personal-best 19-06.25 (5.95m). She now ranks 11th in NDSU indoor history.
Sophomore Jodi Lipp took eighth in the long jump with a mark of 18-09.75 (5.73m).
Jocelyn Dinius (personal-best 25.34) and Alyssa Lind (indoor PR 25.40) led the Bison women in the 200m dash at Vanderbilt.
At the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., sophomore Mikayla Koenig ran 10:10.05 for fourth place in the 3,000m.
