
Bison Track & Field Competes at Tennessee Relays this Week

The North Dakota State University women's and men's track & field teams will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., this week to compete in the 53rd Tennessee Relays on Apr. 8-10.
Competition begins Thursday morning with the multi-events, which will feature Tony Ukkelberg, Eric VanErp and Tyler Enerson in the decathlon, and Jenna Kes in the heptathlon for NDSU. The Bison will also take part in the hammer throw Thursday afternoon and evening.
Friday features the majority of the individual track events, with Saturday reserved for a variety of relays on the track. Field events are split between the two days.
The Bison women are No. 23 in the latest USTFCCCA national team rankings released this week, led by Top-15 national performances from Akealy Moton (No. 2 – shot put), Maddy Nilles (No. 3 – hammer), Kari Wolfe (No. 9 – javelin) and Shelby Gunnells (No. 13 – shot put).
The NDSU men have four marks ranked among the Top 25 on the NCAA performance list for the outdoor season, with Alex Talley 11th in the shot put and 24th in the hammer, Benji Phillips 12th in the javelin, and Maxwell Otterdahl 12th in the shot put.
Following the Tennessee Relays, the Bison will return to Fargo-Moorhead for their next meet at the MSUM Dragon Twilight on Thursday, Apr. 15.
