The North Dakota State track & field program will send a partial squad to compete at the South Dakota Tune-Up in Vermillion, S.D., on Friday, as the Bison prepare for the Summit League Outdoor Championships which start one week from today at South Dakota.
Field events begin with the women's discus and men's hammer throw, pole vault, and long jump at 2:30 p.m. Running events get started on the track at 3 p.m.
The Bison men's 4x400m relay team – ranked 24th in the West Region this year – will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to run at the Arkansas Twilight on Friday night. That race is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT.
The NDSU women currently top the Summit League performance list in 9 of the 21 outdoor events. The Bison men lead the league in seven events – and have seven more athletes who are the No. 2-ranked performer in the conference this season.
The Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for May 13-15 in Vermillion.
