FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State senior thrower
Trevor Otterdahl moved up to No. 7 in the nation this season for the weight throw, highlighting a number of strong performances by the Bison men's track & field team on Friday at the Bison Open.

Otterdahl threw a season-best 72-00.75 (21.96m) to win the weight throw, moving up to No. 7 in the NCAA this season. He ranked ninth in the nation entering this weekend.

Junior standout
Jacob Rodin now ranks second in NDSU history for the 500m, running 1:03.10 to win the event Friday night. His time trails only Aaron Dewald's school record of 1:02.82 on the NDSU all-time list, making it the fastest by a Bison in over two decades. Â

Cody Roder won the 300m dash, clocking 34.26 for the second-fastest time of his career. He stands at No. 3 all-time at NDSU.
Josh Knutson ran a 300m personal-best of 34.72, moving up to eighth on the NDSU all-time list.

Unattached Bison freshman
Kaden Pastian (Hillsboro/Central Valley HS) recorded a weight throw personal-best of 59-10.25 (18.24m) to take third place. Sophomore
Levi Rockey threw 57-09.50 (17.61m) for fourth.

The Bison Open will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday for the conclusion of the men's heptathlon. Running events start at noon.
