
NDSU Women Look to Defend Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Title

The North Dakota State women's track & field team will target its 14th straight outdoor crown this week at the Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Tulsa, Okla., where Oral Roberts hosts the three-day meet from May 12-14.
The NDSU women own the longest active streak of outdoor conference titles in all of Division I.
Since the Bison joined The Summit League prior to the 2008 season, there have been 13 outdoor championship track & field meets. All 13 trophies have been claimed by NDSU.
Among the defending champions and current league leaders for the Bison is senior thrower Amanda Anderson, who will be aiming to win her third consecutive conference title in the discus and add her first outdoor crown in the shot put.
In the triple jump, NDSU boasts both the current league leader (Alissa Melvin) and the defending league champion (Jodi Lipp), while having four of the top five performers in the event.
Behind All-American Kari Wolfe in the javelin, the Bison have four of the top seven women in the conference this season.
