TAMPA, Fla. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team swept the top three places in the javelin and recorded several performances that rank among the school's all-time Top 10 lists on Friday, opening the outdoor season at the USF Bulls Invitational.
Hayley Schmidt threw a personal-best 148-1 (45.14m) to win the javelin and rank No. 8 all-time at NDSU. Freshman
Alex Seagris took second place in her collegiate debut, throwing 147-9 (45.03m) to rank ninth-best in NDSU history. Sophomore
Taylor Leingang made it a Bison sweep of the top three places, taking third at 141-4 (43.09m).

Grace Emineth took third in the long jump with a mark of 19-09.75 (6.04m) for her outdoor opener. The Bison placed five women in the top 12 of the long jump, with
Jodi Lipp in seventh at 18-10.00 (5.74m) and
Alissa Melvin at 18-08.50 (5.70m) in ninth behind Emineth.
Kendra Kelley clocked a personal-best 23.84 in the 200m dash, moving up to fourth-fastest in NDSU outdoor history. Freshman
Jasmine Williams posted a personal-best of 24.42 for the first outdoor race of her Bison career.

Julia Gherardi cleared 12-05.50 (3.80m) in the pole vault, tying her for 10th-best in NDSU outdoor history.
Bailee Dierks ran a career-best 1:01.49 for fifth place in the 400m hurdles, ranking 11th all-time at NDSU.
Angel Pratt recorded a new personal-best of 1:02.28 to take seventh.
Erin Valgardson ran an outdoor PR of 2:14.28 to place seventh in the 800m. Freshman
Kate LeBlanc took ninth in 2:16.06.
Bison freshman
Riley Quinn threw a personal-best 48-4 (14.73m) in the shot put to place fourth in her outdoor debut. Freshman
Adison Kapitzke took eighth in the hammer throw at 163-11 (49.98m).
Competition will continue Saturday at the USF Bulls Invitational.
