Goetschius was named First Team All-Midwest Region at third base, while Vargas picked up Third Team All-Midwest Region accolades as a pitcher. It is the first all-region accolades for both seniors, and the first awards for NDSU since four Bison were named to the team in 2019.

Goetschius led the Summit League and ranked 28th nationally in the regular season in doubles (15) and finished the year second in the league in home runs (7). In league play, Goetschius was also tied for second in the league in extra-base hits (10), with five doubles and five home runs.
Vargas, was named Second Team All-Summit League and also received Summit League All-Tournament team accolades, ranked in the top three in the Summit League in nearly every major pitching category. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
