NDSU Softball Falls in Opening Round of Summit League Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – North Dakota State softball's season came to a close on Wednesday, as the Bison fell to South Dakota State 14-2 in the opening round of the Summit League Championships at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium.
South Dakota State capitalized on three Bison errors in the opening inning to score 10 runs and NDSU was unable to recover, scoring just two runs on seven hits. The Jackrabbits also added four runs in the fifth inning.
NDSU scored in the second inning on a Taylinn Warren RBI single to score Lileigh Nieto from second. The other Bison run came on a sacrifice fly from Jessica Delatorre in the fifth inning, scoring Amai Hanta.
Hanta led the Bison with two hits in the game. Nieto and Warren also reached twice, with Nieto going 1-for-2 with a walk and Warren going 1-for-1 with a walk. Seven of the nine Bison in the lineup recorded at least one hit or a walk.
