NDSU Baseball Cruises Past Northern Colorado in Seven Innings, 18-3

With the win, the Bison have won five of the first six Summit League series and improve to 18-26 (12-5 Summit) on the season. Northern Colorado falls to 8-30 (5-12 Summit) on the season.
James Dunlap got the Bison the board in the opening frame with an RBI single up the middle to make the score 1-0. Stephen Lund plated another run in the second inning with an RBI single before Druw Sackett added an RBI after being walked to increase the lead to 3-0.
Davis Hamilton kept the momentum going into the third with an RBI single to make the score 4-0. Lund followed it up scoring a run after a walk and Peter Brookshaw capped the frame with an RBI sacrifice fly to increase the edge to 6-0.
After the Bison added three more runs with a hit by pitch, walk and wild pitch in the fourth frame, NDSU erupted with six runs on six hits in the fifth inning to open up a 15-0 advantage following an RBI single off the bat of Brookshaw. NDSU continued to surge into the sixth after Dunlap scored following a hit by pitch and Garrett Hill connected on a sacrifice fly to stretch the lead to 17-0. Dallan Quigley put the game out of reach sending a run across in the seventh with his first career triple to seal the 18-3 victory.
The Bison totaled 14 hits as a team with four different players logging multiple hits. Lund led the way for NDSU going 2-of-3 at the plate to go along with two RBI and a season-high four runs. Hamilton also went 2-of-3 at the plate with three RBI and one run.
Tristen Roehrich (5-5) picked up the win on the mound tossing two strikeouts over 6.0 innings.
NDSU will conclude its series with Northern Colorado tomorrow. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. CT
