Hill Walk-Off Propels Bison to Series Win Over Oral Roberts

FARGO, N.D. – For the second straight game, Garret Hill provided a clutch walk-off hit to help propel the Bison to a 5-4 win over Oral Roberts at Newman Outdoor Field on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, NDSU secured the series win over Oral Roberts and improved to 12-22 (9-6 Summit) on the season. The Bison have now won four of their first five Summit League series, including two against the Golden Eagles. With the loss, Oral Roberts drops to 14-25-1 (5-12-1 Summit) on the season.
The Golden Eagles used two runs in the seventh frame to grab a 4-2 lead after Drew Stahl connected on a sacrifice fly. Colten Becker sparked the Bison in the ninth with a one-out RBI single into right field to make the score 4-3. Sam Canton then followed it up with an RBI single of his own into right field to tie the contest, 4-4. Hill, who used a walk-off home run the night before, connected on a single into deep center field to score Kyle Law and secure the 5-4 walk-off victory.
NDSU notched 11 hits as a team with Cadyn Schwabe, James Dunlap and Davis Hamilton each logging two hits.
Landon Koenig made the start on the mound with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings. Joey Danielson (1-4) finished out the final frame and earned his first win of the season with one strikeout.
NDSU will be back in action on Tuesday night hosting Mayville State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m., at Newman Outdoor Field.
