Graham Captures Drake Relays 400m Title

DES MOINES, Iowa – Another meet. Another impressive accomplishment by North Dakota State senior Nell Graham.
Graham highlighted Friday's action at the Drake Relays for the Bison women's track & field team, winning the 400m dash title in 52.61 – the second-fastest time in NDSU history behind only her own school record from earlier this month. She is currently ranked 37th in the NCAA this season in the event.
The Bison women also had success in several relay events on the track Friday.
Ilise Jennings, Graham, Anika Larson, and Kendra Kelley placed fourth in the 4x200m relay, despite a drop of the baton. Their time of 1:38.74 is sixth-fastest in NDSU history.
Jennings, Salmata Korgho, Larson and Kelley ran 45.88 to advance fourth-fastest to the 4x100m relay finals on Saturday.
NDSU's Aleah Miller, Kate LeBlanc, Reagan Baesler and Brita Birkeland finished sixth in the 4x800m relay, running 8:57.60 to rank ninth in NDSU history.
Senior Bailee Dierks ran a career-best 13.51 in the 100m hurdles prelims, moving up to No. 4 all-time at NDSU. Korgho joined Dierks in qualifying for the finals.
Dierks also placed fourth in the 400m hurdles in 59.67. Angel Pratt was eighth in a personal-best 1:01.26.
Merrideth Spiers threw a personal-best 156-9 (47.78m) in the discus, taking fifth in the meet and moving up to seventh on the NDSU all-time list. Sophomore Riley Quinn threw 46-07.25 (14.20m) in the shot put for a season-best, placing sixth in the meet.
Jacee Johannsen set a new outdoor PR of 12-04.50 (3.77m) in the pole vault.
Jennings ran 11.70 in the 100m prelims to advance to the finals on Saturday.
