NASHVILLE, Tenn. - North Dakota State wrestling dropped both duals at the Journeyman Collegiate National Duals on Saturday at Montgomery Bell Academy, falling to No. 23 Stanford 25-15, before losing to No. 1 Penn State 46-0.

In the opening match against Stanford, #31
Ezekiel Witt provided an upset at 125 pounds, as he scored both takedowns in a win to upset #12 Nico Provo. Witt had the initial takedown in the first period and then secured a late takedown in the third with a 4-2 lead to clinch the win, 7-2.

The Bison would nearly pull off another upset at 133 pounds, as #29
Tristan Daugherty nearly had a late takedown against #6 Tyler Knox, but ultimately fell 1-0 after a video review. Stanford would take the win to reel off four-straight victories and a 13-3 lead.

Boeden Greenley would close the gap for NDSU at 165 pounds, as he picked up a first period pin on EJ Parco, however, Stanford would answer right back with a fall at 174 pounds.

In the 184-pound match, #17
Aidan Brenot picked up a win in sudden victory over Abraham Wojcikiewicz. Brenot recorded a first-period takedown, but needed to pick up the win in sudden victory, recording a takedown in the opening 12 seconds of the extra frame.

After a pin for Stanford to secure the dual at 197 pounds,
Shilo Jones closed the dual with a fourth win for the Bison, as the heavyweight secured an early escape in the second and a rideout in the third for a 2-0 victory.

In the opening match against Penn State, Witt scored first with the opening takedown on #2 Luke Lilledahl and battled to the finish, falling on a riding time point in a 6-5 decision.
Michael Olson also had a close battle with Nate Desmond at 141 pounds, falling on a late takedown in the final 15 seconds of a 4-1 decision.

North Dakota State will return to action after the turn of the new year, sending split squads to the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Soldier Salute in Coralville, Iowa on January 3-4.
