Oral Roberts Edges NDSU Baseball, 3-2

TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts used a late home run to edge the North Dakota State baseball team, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at Chapman Park.
The two teams battled through four scoreless innings before Kyle Law launched a solo home run down the left field line for the 1-0 advantage in the fifth. It marked his second home run in the last five games. Oral Roberts (25-16, 16-2 Summit) responded with a two-run double off the bat of Cooper Combs in the sixth to steal the lead, 2-1.
Colten Becker answered for the Bison (7-26, 4-10 Summit) in the eighth after he lifted an RBI sacrifice fly to center field to lock the contest, 2-2. Ethan Fender then launched a solo home run down the left line to regain the lead for the Golden Eagles, 3-2, in the eighth. Chase Womack singled and Bennett Freiter reached on an error in the ninth, but both were left stranded and the Bison dropped the contest, 3-2.
NDSU notched six hits as a team with six different players contributing one hit.
Parker Puetz made the start tying a season-long 6.0 innings with four strikeouts and four walks. Braden Gluth (0-1) also posted 1.2 innings with one walk in relief.
NDSU will wrap up its series with Oral Roberts tomorrow. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
