
Renschler, Jumpers Shine at NDSU Tune-Up

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field performances were highlighted by the sprint and jump groups at the NDSU Tune-Up on Friday afternoon at the Terry and Donna Dahl Track and Field Complex.
The team of Sydney Arndt, Paige Renschler, Elise Wisnewski and Anika Larson won the 4x100m relay in 44.91. The relay broke the facility record and is now the second fastest relay in program history.
Sophomore Renschler won the 100m dash in a wind-aided 11.27 (+4.1 m/s). The mark would have set new school and facility records if wind-legal. Larson finished second in the 100m dash, running a personal-best 11.45. Wisnewski claimed third in 11.60 and to move to 7th in program history if wind-legal. Freshman Kendra Mehrkens placed fifth in 11.84.
Arndt won the 100m hurdles in a career-best 13.47. She now ranks No. 5 in NDSU history. Freshman Jordyn Davis finished third in a personal-best 13.85. Laney Songster was fourth in a personal-best 13.88 to climb to No. 11 in program history.
Arienne Birch finished second in the high jump, clearing 5-08.50 (1.74m). Rylee Johnson took third, jumping a personal-best 5-06.50 (1.69m). Grace Van Erp won the triple jump crown, jumping 40-08.75 (12.41m). Madison Pederson claimed third after leaping 38-00.00 (11.58m).
Soraya Espino took the 400m title, finishing in 56.61. Ava Ligtenberg was the runner-up, running 58.30. Fallon Sampsel and Alison Krasky also competed in the event, placing third and fourth.
Adison Kapitzke claimed the shot put title, throwing 48-06.25 (14.79m). Grace Steffen threw 45-08.50 (13.93m) to take fifth place, and Riley Quinn placed sixth. Ashley Stewart claimed second in the hammer throw, throwing a personal-best 184-01 (56.12m) and Kapitzke placed third.
Mia Hoffmann won the 3000m run in her event debut, running 10:06.42. Freshman Kasey Soderholm finished second in the 1500m, with Kate LeBlanc taking fourth and Julia Link finishing fifth.
Alexandra Seagris was the javelin runner-up, throwing 143-07 (43.77m). Camille Deringer finished third with a mark of 139-10 (42.62m). Ashley Rusthoven threw a personal-best 148-10 (45.36m) in the discus to place fifth.
