2019 SEASON (JUNIOR): Earned first team All-America honors from HERO Sports...Second team All-America by STATS and Phil Steele...Third team All-America by the Associated Press...All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team...NDSU's third leading tackler with 92 stops including 9.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks...Led the Bison with 57 solo tackles, two shy of the school record, and finished the year fourth in Bison history with 158 career solo stops....Had one interception against UC Davis and finished the season fifth all-time at NDSU with 190 career interception return yards...Also credited with six pass breakups and five quarterback hurries...Made a season-high eight tackles three times including the NCAA quarterfinal win over Illinois State and the NCAA championship victory over James Madison...Started 15 of 16 games...Missed the South Dakota game with an injury, ending a streak of 31 consecutive starts...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.
2018 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year...Finished fourth in voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, presented to the top defensive player in the FCS...All-America first team pick by HERO Sports and Phil Steele...Second team All-America pick by the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and STATS...Started all 15 games at linebacker, running his streak to 21 consecutive starts...Led the Bison defense and ranked 10th in the MVFC with 91 total tackles...Finished with 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, four interceptions, three breakups and seven quarterback hurries...Returned interceptions for touchdowns in back-to-back games against North Alabama (43 yards) and Delaware (36 yards)...Season-high 10 tackles in the FCS second round playoff win over Montana State.
2017 SEASON (FRESHMAN):Â Missouri Valley Football Conference Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year...Finished sixth in the voting for the Jerry Rice Award, presented to the top freshman player in the FCS...Named to the HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-America Team...All-MVFC second team...Played all 15 games with eight starts at linebacker including the final six contests...Led the NDSU defense in tackles (75) and tackles for loss (13.0)...Also had 4.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and three fumble recoveries...Career-high 13 tackles including seven solo stops in the NCAA semifinal win over Sam Houston State...Earned his first of two MVFCÂ Newcomer of the Week awards after making eight tackles with a fumble recovery in the win over Robert Morris...Named STATS FCS Newcomer of the Week after another eight-tackle game at Youngstown State...Had three tackles for loss and two sacks against the Penguins, including one in OT that led to a missed field goal in an eventual Bison win...Made eight tackles with a sack and three QB hurries against South Dakota...His 32-yard interception return late in the third quarter at Illinois State in a 7-0 game set up another Bison touchdown...Credited with a QB hurry on James Madison's final offensive play of the national championship game.

HIGH SCHOOL:Â Three-year starter and two-time captain for Raytown South under coach Nick Adkins...Dual-threat quarterback who also played wide receiver, linebacker, safety and cornerback in his career...Accounted for 3,107 yards of total offense and 31 touchdowns his senior year...Passed for 2,103 yards and 18 TDs while running for 1,004 yards and 13 scores...First team all-district honoree...All-conference first team quarterback as a junior when he passed for 1,300 yards and 17 TDs and rushed for 830 yards...All-conference first team linebacker as a sophomore with 101 tackles and 13 tackles for loss...Also had 509 receiving yards and nine touchdowns that year...Four-year starter for the basketball team.
