
Another Pair of Walk-Offs as Bison Take Two From Jacks 7-6, 3-2

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State got its second and third straight walk-off victories and swept a Summit League baseball doubleheader from South Dakota State at Newman Outdoor Field on Saturday, April 21.
Zach Wentz drove in Tim Colwell with the game-tying run in the ninth and Wentz scored on an infield error after after a pair of intentional walks to give North Dakota State a 7-6 win in the opener.
In the nightcap, Nick Colwell drew a one-out walk in the eighth, moved to third on Wentz's double, and scored when Nick Anderson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for a 3-2 victory.
North Dakota State improved to 28-9 overall and 5-2 in The Summit League. South Dakota State (12-23-1, 2-5-0) has lost five road games in league play by one run, including four straight walk-offs.
Wentz was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the opener, Kyle Kleinendorst doubled, scored and hit a two-run homer, and Tim Colwell was 2-for-5. Kyle Kingsley (4-2) pitched the final 1 2/3 innings for the win.
Michael Leach went 2-for-4 to lead the Bison in the nightcap, and Luke Anderson (7-1) pitched his fifth complete game of the year with six strikeouts.
The final game of the four-game Summit League series is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, April 22.
