The seven-time defending Summit League champion North Dakota State women's track & field team will compete in the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational hosted by South Dakota State in Brookings, S.D., this Saturday, Jan. 24. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Teams participating are expected to include North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas City, Omaha, Mary, St. Cloud State, Iowa Central, and the host Jackrabbits.

There will also be an indoor discus event at 7 p.m. on Friday, in which NDSU school record holder Katelyn Weimerskirch and Jordyn Thornton are entered.

The Bison women enter this weekend with a number of nationally-ranked performances early in the indoor season. Junior Erin Teschuk is No. 2 on the national list in the mile, and sophomore Rose Jackson remains sixth in the country in the pentathlon. Other NDSU women on among the top marks in the nation include: Maddie Van Beek (18th in 3000m), Anna Benke (25th in pole vault), Emily Lesser (30th in shot put) and Amy Andrushko (30th in 800m).

While Teschuk is not scheduled to compete this weekend, Jackson is slated to take part in the 60m dash, 200m dash, high jump and long jump. Van Beek will run the mile for the first time this season.
