NDSU Women’s Track & Field Travels to Minnesota’s Jack Johnson Classic

The North Dakota State women's track & field team will travel to Minneapolis this weekend to compete at the Jack Johnson Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota. Competition starts on Friday, Jan. 30, and concludes on Saturday, Jan. 31, inside the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.
Friday's action starts at 2:30 p.m. and will feature Bison competing in the 200m dash, long jump, pole vault and unseeded section of the shot put.
The women's weight throw opens the field event action on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Running events start at 11 a.m.
Bison junior Erin Teschuk, currently ranked No. 4 in Division I in the mile, will run the event at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in an attempt to improve her school record time and qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
NDSU senior Maddie Van Beek will race the 3,000m at 5 p.m. on Saturday, looking to post a season-best time that moves her up from her No. 42 spot on the national list. Emily Lesser (shot put and weight throw on Saturday) and Anna Benke (pole vault on Friday) are other national-ranked Bison competing this weekend. Lesser captured the weight throw title at the Jack Johnson Classic last year.
Summit League leaders Katelyn Weimerskirch (weight throw) and Amy Andrushko (800m) will compete in their respective events for NDSU on Saturday.
NDSU has also entered a strong group of women in the 400m dash that includes Morgan Milbrath, Melissa Kitching, Ashley Heinze, Alexis Woods, Amanda Levin, Dustlynn Kaine and Regina Nyanfor.
